| SHARE provides our Sandia workforce a convenient way to reach out and help others in need. | The needs in our communities remain high. Support and assistance is needed in the form of food, clothing, shelter, and services that range from infant care to end-of-life care, from counseling to tutoring and job placement, and from helping the poor and disabled to helping those who find themselves in personal or family crises. Our contributions can have a significant impact on those who need it most. |
| For example, $120 (less than $5/pay period) can provide a year of basic medical care for an uninsured child or a year of math tutoring for a student in need. Just $1 donated per pay period over one year ($26/year) can provide immunization shots for 26 uninsured children, two hours of substance abuse treatment, four bags of food for a family in a shelter or one day of mental health counseling. Ultimately, our gifts support individual people in need. |
| Our collective giving creates extraordinary impact. By participating through a workplace program like SHARE, our contributions generate momentum and additional receipts for community agencies beyond that possible by individual donations. Last year, Sandia/California employees contributed more than $230,000 to over 150 agencies through workplace contributions. This large amount of money was provided by just over half the site population. Imagine the impact we could make if more people participated in SHARE! |

Participating in SHARE is easy.
- Sandia staff: Go to Make Contribution - to set up your automated payroll deduction and distribution to the charities of your choice. If you donated last year and wish to donate the same amount and have the same distribution this year, you may do so with the click of one easy-to-find button in the application. If you do not wish to use this web-based application, you may use the 2009 SHARE Pledge Form.
- Contractors: Employees that do not receive their pay directly from Sandia must use the 2009 SHARE Pledge Form to donate. Go to 2009 SHARE Pledge Form to print out the form, or ask your department or center representative for a copy. Fill it out and follow the directions on the form for submitting it.
For more information about many of the charities that are currently part of SHARE, go to the “Agencies” listing. If the charity you wish to support is not currently part of the program, you can simply add it to the list yourself in either the web-based application or on the paper pledge form. |
